Can anyone with knowledge of the Wirral Tramway advise what voltage they use? It will be somewhere between 500V and 750V but not sure of the exact number.

And no, the class 90 won't be working this train on its own in the...
Christian Malford is an Auto Transformer site. When the OLE is energised to Chippenham it will form the limit of AT feeding. Classically fed from there the the limit of wiring, and no need for a neutral section.
No offence taken - I guess I'm a little defensive as a result of the "everything about GW electrification is BAAAD" attitude which is popular in some quarters... (but not here)
No, it's not a waste - we aren't in the habit of putting wires up for no reason. It is overrun protection - in the event on an IET not panning down at Newbury Racecourse for some reason, it will guide the pan safely through Bartholomew St and Rockingham Road overbridges without damage to train...

The other NWEP phases will be taking the same approach and...
Diverging junctions on GW get a varying level of wiring depending on a) risk of overrun and b) potential need to extend wiring in future. Some get none at all, if the misrouting risk is judged to be low enough, and there is low chance of future wiring extension.
At Westerleigh, the maximum...
