Just a quick update. Having heard absolutely nothing (no letter, phone call or email) since the back end of 2014 regarding the talent pool situation I decided to give Freightliner HH a call today. I'm obviously aware of others being contacted by letter and the downturn in Coal traffic, but it...
Hello, are you currently employed within Freightliner or currently applying/sat in a talent pool? Not sure which group that your question was posted to. Cheers.
It's not through choice that Freightliner finds itself in the current position it does!
Got to agree that it's not Freightliners fault for the loss of traffic etc, but keeping candidates up to date is sadly one of their downfalls. I'm no computer whizzkid but I reckon I could produce a...
I have given up hope on this talent pool business to be honest. It would have been nice to receive an email or letter to say what's happening but iv'e heard diddly squat along with others by the sound of it.
I think you will find that the interview is for Freightliner Intermodal, rather than Heavy Haul. I've applied for both and i'm awaiting a medical for Heavy Haul. Intermodal are using telephone interviews, something that Heavy Haul did not use.
As time passes by I reckon we have had it for the march intake, bearing in mind other people like me need to give a months notice and have heard nothing regarding a medical. Fingers x'd though.
Just checked the earlier threads on this post. On the 17th October 2014 quite a few posters heard on here if they had been successful or unsuccessful for the jan intake (2 and a half months). I'm thinking now that the march intake is obviously less than 2 months away so feeling a bit gutted. :(
Cheers for that James. It appears that nobody on here has heard any news for the march intake, so hopefully they are using people out of the talent pool that were unsuccessful for the January start. You would have thought by coincidence that at least one person on here would have found out by...
I'm not sure what to make of this but just pleased to be still in with a chance when others have unfortunately had the dreaded letter. I think if they open the recruitment process up again though it maybe curtains.
Just received a letter saying I have failed to make the shortlist for the January Intake, however I performed well at the interview and want to keep my name on file for the March and other subsequent intakes.
So bad news but not devastating news.
During my interview I mentioned potential locations and apparently there isn't a Heavy Haul yard in Tyneside. I live in Teesside and my nearest depot is Grangetown (near Middlesbrough), followed by the Ferrybridge area. I was told that there were three available jobs at Tees yard but not sure if...
Congratulations and commiserations at the same time. At least there is movement now and people know where they stand one way or another. Hopefully the rest of us will know one way or another shortly.
