    Altercation with rail staff

So there were TWO members of staff that irritated you? Black female who's skin colour was worth menthioning and a male who's colour isn't required? The railways not there to heal your foot condition, as for the unwarranted touching, complain to the TOC and follow it up with a phone call to...

RAIB investigation launched into a dangerous occurrence at Todmorden, West Yorkshire, 7 May 2026.

Don't know the area or the incident. But as the post mentions shunt moves it is possible the train was doing a wrong direction move to go behind a signal facing the other way and driver had unknowingly already passed it. Just one of many possible scenarios.

Complex Situation with Greater Anglia, advice needed.

Did the ticket cover your full journey? Were there barriers at the station you started journey at, if so, did you scan the ticket in?

A career as a train driver

If you like knowing your start/finish times and what days you're working weeks/months in advance (except for slight movements of spare turns) then you want to be on passenger trains. T&Cs are generally better, pension and travel perks are better too. Freight work is more susceptible to changes...

West Midlands Trains (inc. LNWR) - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Unless it's within the first 2 or 3 weeks of starting I wouldn't worry about it. Just sort it out with the instructor running your course. It's only 2 days, at best you might be out with Driver Instructor and can sort your work days out with him/her. At worst you'll be in classroom training and...

SWR intent to avoid payment letter

You specifically mention only avoiding SWR fares on two occasions. If you've been short faring on other train operators then SWR may pick up on those too if they are in your online purchase history.

    17:19 MKC - CRE departed 22 Minutes early during disruption - 07/02

The alternative may have been to run it empty to Rugby for a right time start from there instead. Which would mean everybody misses it from Milton Keynes. This way, yes it inconveniences some/most passengers from MKC, however its the best of the worst options available at the time. Making...

Thameslink Intention to Prosecute - Deadline 15 Dec

Except GTR may wonder what the true extent of fare dodging is as it appears they only buy a ticket when they absolutely need to, and even then its a short fare. It seems the OP has admitted to somehow passing through St Pancras without a ticket, therefore are likely to have evaded their fare on...

    Help Over £510 Rail Fine

Did your daughter purchase the ticket for her friend? If so, could it be the friend that had the issue (eg. No railcard) but because it was bought on your daughter's ticketing account she's been dragged into it?

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Previously, to be routed into Platform 1 or 2 at Rugby, you had to approach the signal protecting the station at Red as it would step up on final approach. They've now altered the system so it gives flashing yellows on approach, meaning a much faster approach.

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

It is impossible for a 350 to get to MKC on time unless it departs Euston straight onto Line E, has the perfect run and gets routed into platform 6 at MKC. Departing onto Line X, loses time as Line speed is slightly slower. Arriving onto platform 5 at MKC loses time as although the approach...

    Caught by Fraud Officer

When you were caught without a railcard last year, had you bought other tickets with a railcard discount applied that you weren't entitled to before being caught because they are likely to bring those up too and will ask for proof of railcard ownership. Mentioning this as you should be prepared...

South Western Rail - Prosecution Email Received

Except, the bank transfers could be family helping you out to cover train fare due to your unemployment or financial struggles. Why would family members not just purchase their own tickets, it's hardly rocket science using modern phones/apps. I may be well off the mark, but SWR are likely to...

Penalty fare notice stage 3 failure

Leaving aside whether your appeal should've been accepted or not. You can't really argue you should've been given more time to present your ticket once you'd reached the conclusion and shared with the inspector that you must have left the tickets and railcard on previous train. As no amount of...

WMT Short Fare, need to give evidence of alternative travel???

As long as you feel it would clear you of other occasions they feel you short fared and anything you supply is genuine then I don't see a down side, it should reduce what they'd want in an out of court settlement. You'd need to convince them a good proportion of the 85 suspicious transactions...
