This was the response I had from a Cross country Customer Relations Consultant (!) when I complained about the lack of catering in 1st class:
it’s the final sentence that I find most disconcerting. I don’t claim to have read every part of their website but I’ve not spotted where it states this...
Having undertaken a Business Premier journey in the opposite direction on the 15th, I can very much relate to the comments made in the opening post. This was on the 11.04 departure to Amsterdam where lunch was served. The first part of the journey saw quite a good at seat service and the hot...
I detest any advert which has the sound of someone eating or biting into anything eg. Walkers crisps, KFC, Magnum etc.
However, the latest ad for Pot Noodles reaches a new low with its disgusting slurping sounds as the young woman apparently sucks the contents out of its pot. I fail to see how...
i just wanted to add that I was able to buy a 14 day rover printed on card at a station which usually issues tickets on paper. So, I was able to keep it safely in a ticket wallet with no worries about fading etc. The only time I had to remove it was for an Avanti man at the gateline in Rugby who...
I intend to buy a 14 day rover shortly but I would like it printed in a traditional card format. My local station issues tickets on paper and when I bought a rover from there a few years ago, I found that it was becoming illegible after about 10 days of use. Since then, I’ve bought them online...
As I understand it, the extension has now been handed over to the operator and driver training begins this Tuesday, the 29th. During the training period, passenger services with start/terminate at The Royal.
Today’s Express and Star is reporting that the Wolverhampton extension will be handed over to the operator ‘shortly’. Of course, no date is forthcoming!

As others have said, it does happen. I experienced it myself a few years ago before the stock was refurbished. Boarded the sleeper at Paddington soon after 22.30, settled into berth, got sleep of sorts but was aware that it was way past scheduled departure time and was still at station...
If I recall it correctly, Banks’s (Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries) bought out Marston‘s a few years ago and subsequently decided to rebrand their own pubs with the Marston’s name for commercial reasons.
Apparently, another step towards the opening of the new section being opened is that Pipers Row will be closed for resurfacing work between 14th and 18th August.
I can’t see the opening happening just yet. I was at the station today and a section of tram track was fenced off. Inside, the paving stones between the rails had been dug up leaving a rectangular shaped bar exposed. I wondered if it was some sort of sensor which needs replacing or repairing.
