If they have the same work why do they have more than one link? I'm just intrigued to know the difference - is it the shift patterns?
I'm also surprised they don't go further afield given the routes go all the way to York etc but I guess that's me looking from an outsiders position
That's really useful and I'm surprised they would serve the likes of Kirby and Ormskirk, but good to know there's a bit more variety!
What's the earliest /latest shifts like, I'm guessing something like 5am - 1am
Forgive me I have tried looking at other threads but I couldn't find what I was after. Thrilled to have an interview for conductor at Blackburn! I just wondered what the depot was like. I'm assuming routes are Blackburn - Blackpool, Blackburn - Colne/York and Blackburn - Manchester.
Just...
I can see this job has gone back online. Does anyone know how long it takes to move through the Grades? The current job I'm in my salary is a lot more - I'm happy to take a pay cut however Im equally not sure I can pay the bills initially earning only 20k a year
It's because it was really a bonus due in April but they paid us it early on the understanding we pay it back if we leave before the end of the financial year. I think I will go for it! I can't see having anything to lose
I was thinking of going for it anyway. I can always explain my situation. It's more to do with the fact I'd have to pay back 2k as I've already had the bonus!
Hi guys
I wonder if anyone who has experience of Northern applications would give me some advice?
I've just seen the Conductor role advertised with vacancies for various dates in 2020. Now I've been rejected twice before so I'm aware the process is rather slow, however in my current role I could...
Does anyone know if there is a limit of how many times you can apply for a role at Northern within a certain period? I was rejected at interview stage back in March time, which jolted my confidence at first. But I would like to try again when the next role comes up. I know some employers prevent...
Wow I didn't expect all these responses haha! Thank you everyone, though. I'd like to think I'd fit in with Virgin because all of my colleagues have always said I'm a bit out there (definitely not the stereotype of working in law) but we'll see.
Can I read into anything that the job post closes...
Yes I thought about that although I'm not sure they've announced who the next franchisee is yet out of the other two bidders? I am excited to try something completely new and the railway is always been where I wanted to be!
Hi guys
So I've seen a station based role on virgin trains website and I wondered if anyone on here has experience working for them and if so what they are like working for? I currently work in law, which is obviously a complete different industry to the rail sector!
