Front end turns, as has been already explained, is for you to ride with the driver, enabling you to observe first hand the operation of a freight train, it also give you a chance to ask questions about the role of a driver, I would suggest you take full advantage of this time to askas many...

Congratulations, it's going to be hard work, there is a lot to learn , but it's all worth while, I've been in the grade 14 years and it's a brilliant job, despite the silly shifts.. Good luck.
