I was offered to be put in the pool to begin a course for Eastleigh in October but I turned it down.

The course starts mid August and I'll be on it if I pass the medical :)

Yeah, it took me by surprise too! The depot driver course is around 2 weeks long and then you're out with a DI when one becomes available. The depot drivers seem very forgotten at SWR but still a great job. Excellent pay compared to depot drivers at other TOCs too.

SWR depot drivers only have ID cards and do not recieve ETDLs, sadly.

Yeah, it's usually straight to medical. I'd not heard of a Driver's Review Board before - but keep us updated still! Nothing is as it seems with the railway... Hopefully you hear back soon :)
