I agree that the loadings are not great, but I feel they would be greater if they were not turned back at Preston on a regular basis.

This reinforces the locally held opinion that Avanti will do everything they can to avoid serving Blackpool North, even though they are not happy when someone else tries to. There have been several occasions when passengers have been ejected at Preston en route to London and had to wait there...

Even worse today, a three hour gap because the 1100 from Blackpool North was cancelled!

Perhaps most people would prefer to have a seat though, rather than being forced to stand.

EMR trains from Norwich to Liverpool gain extra coaches at Nottingham, and they are detached there on the return journey.

RTT shows 319368 out and about this morning so was nothing too serious I suspect.

I agree. Always preferred the Pacers to 150s especially the 200s with ridiculous seating.

Interesting combination on Colne to Blackpool South today. 156411 in Northern colours attached to 156415 in East Midlands colours.

We were on the 1110 departure from Crewe (1030 from Manchester) which was 153327 and 153913 and very busy! Chose to ride in the latter, first time for many years and could be the last.

I totally agree! It will be interesting to see how they fare after the same length of service as the Pacers.

On Friday I joined a queue of 50+ people for the 0947 from Blackpool North which must surely make it worthwhile to operate. I agree this is not necessarily typical but there are obviously passengers from Cheshire and the Midlands who do use these trains, as you have said.

The toilet issue seems to happen frequently on both 195s and 331s. I had to change to another unit last night when the train got delayed by a faulty train in front, but obviously this is not possible in a single unit. How we miss the back up of a simple toilet a la Pacer!

The problem of loading distribution on Liverpool to Norwich trains was made worse, I think, when reservations as far as Nottingham were all applied to the through coaches rather than the Nottingham turn backs.
