Looks like the GWR London to Didcot Parkway services will cross over from the main lines after Slough from December which means they will stop at Platform 2. Is this possibly due to the upcoming Dolphin Junction works?
Ah thanks for confirming, have been looking everywhere but couldn’t see it confirmed! Would make sense that they are applying for the MU speeds, especially the parent company being First.
I see that there are MU speeds for units to travel up to 125 between sections of Rugby to Birmingham, but I assume that the 805/807s are sticking to 110 on this route for now?
Very sensible post. The pile on Southgate gets is ridiculous where the likes of his predecessors (aka Eriksson/Capello) never faced that much abuse. I think he should probably move on now but I thank him for picking us up from the bottom of the pit after Euro 2016 and making me feel genuinely...
Agreed. Having a train every 15 mins or so from Burnham is much better than the previous 30 mins service we had under GWR. Softens the blow a bit if one train is cancelled.
I’m not sure about Iver but I don’t think Langley can be extended southbound due to railway equipment. Northbound definitely not as the road bridge is in the way. As others have said SDO doesn’t really make it a problem.
Of course but I’m not sure how appealing it would be for match day fans. But definitely a plus to have another option to and from the stadium, and for the business workers in Green Park too. This has been in the works for a long time so it is good to finally see the station up and running.
The issue I have is the train service being every 30 mins so not really appealing. I’ll probably still use the buses or brave the walk down the A33 but it is good to have another viable option, especially those living south of Reading.
