There are works compounds a Tweedbank, Winston Road in Galashiels close to the main substation and one at Bowland where the wires will end with stacks of piles. Each site populated with white vans and pickups.

The Bowshank tunnel was laid with slab track to have enough clearance for electrification. They claimed at the time that the whole Borders railway was built to enable electrification without having to rebuild structure along the line.

Partially leak the document to a tame newspaper, then spin the message they want before anyone has a chance to read the report, examine it details and make an informed judgment on what it says. Lets have careful sniff before grabbing the bait being dangled by the Government.
