Anybody still in the running for this? Not sure when the course(s) are planned for or where the positions are, or even how many. FL have been advertising for qualified drivers in quite a few locations recently.
Hiya, I joined the the railway three months ago, so it definitely worked for me. Bus driving is not an easy job though (driving a bus is easy, the rest is annoying) so you need perserverence to put up with it!
Hmmm interesting. I'm still giving it a miss though. Previously applied for this role, a ticket office role at salisbury and the mainline role but didn't pass the sift on any of them for some reason, even though virtually the same applications were fine for others. I'd assumed it's because...
Live on website, closing on the 14th.
I'll pass on this one as never get past sift on the Salisbury jobs. Think they're quite tight on the radius from Salisbury...
I'm hoping for Eastleigh. I believe there were 3 of 16 positions pencilled in for there but subject to change. Everyone I've met so far whether applicant of staff have been really friendly so I'm keeping everything crossed. Best of luck!
I've just come back from a week away and have a voicemail from them yesterday. Have the interviews been postponed? I've paid for 2 plane tickets, a train ticket, a hire car and a hotel to get there and back around my shifts next week...
Also worth remembering that the interviewer tailors the interview to the results of the SJE, so in theory everyone's interview is individual to them. In other words, what they're looking for in an answer from one person may be slightly different to another.
There are clearly certain traits...
Not London buses but I got a bus driving job specifically to make me more attractive to the rail industry and I've had much better fortune with rail applications since I did.
I do enjoy it on the whole, especially when I'm driving one of my regular, more out of the way routes. You get to...
I did the assessment last year at Knollys. You don't need any information other than that included in the practice material sent. The assessments are pretty easy really, I guess the group bourdon is the hardest part. Especially as I had practiced the SCAAT so went into the bourdon blind. The...
Yes, the OPC chap said at my assessment that if you say something before, or sometimes eve during the test, they can do something about it. Once the test is over that is it, and no pleas can be entertained. Sorry!
That said, why not ask the OPC and see what they say?
Is yours at Basford Hall too Jace? No idea what topic to pick for a presentation yet, though plenty of time to ponder. 1.5 hours should be a good grilling! Best of luck on the interview.
I think there were more passes at stage 1 than anticipated so they had to arrange an extra day. There's only 6 per day at stage 2. I wouldn't read anything more into it than that. Advice for stage 2? Not really other than what has already been said in the forum threads. Remember that the...
I've been following this thread for a while, though it's gone strangely quiet! I was at Watford yesterday and have just had a very welcome voicemail from Corinne. Congrats to those of you through to the DMIs, commiserations to those who aren't. Everyone I've met at the two assessments seem...
