I have to dissagree with your statement.It could not be further from the truth for a number of firms who only are bothered about you being back at work,and not your wellbeing after an incident.
The station in question was around a mile and a half away when you turned the bend.They would start flashing the torch when they saw you come along,and I usually used to respond with a toot on the horn,to acknowledge them once I had seen them.They would then turn the torch off and wait.

On a route that I have worked on,which included request stops,one regular evening passenger always had a very bright torch that they would start to flash as you came round the corner into view,as the lights on the station were not the best.

North London Railways,the previous guise of Silverlink had a crew depot at St Pancras on Platform 7,but it was unique,as the crews didn't actually sign St Pancras station.
How about a Gatwick to Heathrow service ? I guess the only way it could be done is going via Clapham and North Pole,if paths were available but would it be well used ?
Also a Weymouth to Hastings service,even limited to a few a day,would be good.
Settle has to be in with a shout,but doubt it is top of the pile though for trains stopping.15 a day in total.As for passenger numbers,its far from quiet at times,even with those few trains.
I still think that this livery made,what is without doubt,one of the worst units ever invented,actually look half decent.

Spot on,but try explaining that time and again to Mr Commuter,or Mr Spotter who both think we are bone lazy idle layabouts,who will do anything to stop the job or delay them.
