In my experience, the only thing GWR members of staff may ‘upsell’ is first class and/or railcards. Two things which are scored by the DfT in terms of service quality, through mystery shops. As others have said, no commission for ticket office colleagues.

The only ticket office closure that is being discussed is Castle Bar Park….which hasn’t been staffed since Covid(?). 99% of ticket sales online/on mobile phones.

From someone who works closely with them, the team who do the tweaking for events are some of the best in the business.
