I still have my license. I will take the job and still apply for qualified train driver roles. As part of the job I need to do HS1 for rescue of Eurostar, SE and freight. So I guess it won’t hurt to have this traction and route knowledge.

Its very similar to the tube in terms of stop start on the core route. I was a driver there for 3 years.

I got through for an interview with a DM, but had a death in the family, tried to rearrange the interview, but heard nothing back. HR these days are shocking to say the least.

Very much similar to me, worked as a contractor in an office for a while. I juat cannot wait to get away from the office politics. Plus the upside of learning a great skill being a train operator!!! See you on the 8th!!!

Thanks mate, I come from a varied background in management for children with disablilites and finance. Had enough of the office politics and was always interested in the aviation and locomotive industry! So here I am luckily!
