Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

I've noticed over the last week since the temperatures dropped significantly that 700's started squealing sounding like an UFO when coming to a halt. Are they programmed to apply tread brakes earlier than usual when the temperature drops below certain threshold?

Hi Does anyone know why every time something big happens (like a car striking a bridge or OHLE issues like today) Thameslink's station announcement system falls apart and keeps announcing trains which have long been cancelled as delayed... instead of dropping them. I live next to one of their...
