As a commuter on the Reading-Newbury line this morning, I'm interested in how cancelled trains are communicated to customers. I checked the live times before I left for the station, discovered that the 0734 and 0803 were cancelled, but that the 0834 was still listed as running. Before I left...
Found an IET waiting for me as the 0742 from Reading to Bedwyn this morning instead of the usual Turbo. Does this mean they've finally taken over the route, or just a one-off?

I guess I won't be riding them to work next month then :s
So to summarise, from January (in theory at least)...
Paddington - Bedwyn will be 5 car IETs (presumably these run electric to Newbury then switch to diesel)
Reading - Newbury (all stations) will be 387s
Do I have this right? Sorry to labour on it, it just seems very difficult to find definite...
Thank you. As I understand that's just to Newbury, correct? How will Bedwyn services work? Does that mean there will be diesels still running from Reading-Bedwyn in parallel with EMUs going Reading-Newbury, or just Newbury-Bedwyn?
Is there somewhere I can look all this up? Google is failing me here.
Hello all,
I'm still a little unclear on the exact date of changeover on the Thames Valley line. Will 387s replace Turbo trains on Reading-Newbury from Jan onwards, or does that come later?
Hello all,
I saw another blockade listed for Theale - Bedwyn at Reading station yesterday for 19-22 Nov. Is this a new addition? I'm fairly sure I remember hearing the Oct one was supposed to be the last.
