Does anyone know what signaling system is on this line? Just trying to comprehend how a complete failure can happen.
Perhaps a data flaw or something in an upgrade? Or a hard to source component?
Thanks

They use Victoria for that, used to be regular (weekly) 395 runs into Victoria to keep the drivers route knowledge up. Not sure if that still happens?

When they named the Merchant Navies they made 3 plates, two for the loco and one for the shipping company.
My Dad worked for P&O for many years and often saw their 3rd nameplate.

One I know of is modeltrade.net that is run by Hattons of Liverpool, I have the Android app which is quite good. Not sold anything myself so can't comment on how good it is, but it gives you exposure to the market you are after.

Nope I missed that one. And their web site of coirse concurs with you. However I saw a flyer advertising the F1 channel that led me to my original assertion, clearly stated that deal was for existing customers only....

So BBC will only show 9 races live. New customers to Sky will have to pay extra for the F1 channel ( only existing customers get it free with HD package now).

Last year I increasingly found myself not bothering if I missed a highlights race...

Does anyone know which plastic pig it was that tried to bacon itself?

A few years ago I was taking a late night train from Purley to get home, I lived in another London suburb at the time. At Purley there were no working ticket machines, no open ticket office. This predated the arrival of ticket barriers.
There was one permit to travel machine that took only...
Your question puts the Deltics into my mind, when they had ETH fitted, it wasn't a power consideration but one of space. ETH generator was quite a tight fit. I wonder if there was actually enough room in a western for the generator?

A couple of things from Victoria...
For the last couple of years i've been commuting through London Victoria, often catching the GatEx home of an evening. Last year was approached by an American gent:
'excuse me, which way is this train going?'
'Gatwick' I reply,
'No, I mean this way or that...
Yes Redhill was very busy when I went through about 1735ish.... Our guard seemed quite excited to announce an FCC train had 'exploded' as the cause of the delays!
2403 seemed to have taken up residence in P3 of Horley. I presume detrained on an up GatEx, those passengers got far on their...
