During the blockade no passenger trains are working between the Airport and Piccadilly. I believe the blockade is from just south of the platform ends at Piccadilly to Slade Lane Junction. I believe there is a special arrangement to allow the container traffic to pass through towards the latter...
I bought two tickets using the link at the top of this page for a journey on
20th July 2025 from Stockport(SPT) to Edinburgh(EDB) which involve a change of trains at Doncaster(DON).
The trains involved were:-
Transpennine Express 11:29 SPT to DON arriving at 12:24 and
LNER 13:12 DON to EDB...

I don't ever recall seeing freigh workings from Tunstead working theough the Castlefield corridor. Do you have a copy of the working timetable for these?
Is it essential for a Liverpool/Manchester to Nottingham service to call at Sheffield?
could Liverpool/Manchester to Sheffield and Nottingham to Sheffield be covered by other services?

As a resident of the large population centre (Ardwick, Longsight, Plymouth Grove etc)
if I wish to travel by rail I catch a 192 bus which stops outside Piccadilly station.
To get to Ardwick station I would have to get off the 192 At the Apollo 02 venue
and walk almost half a mile with an...
