What engines are fitted to these?

Used to leave control in forward and DSD alarm sounding while walking down train to check engines (Voyagers). Local Bombardier staff member pointed out new system and made us aware we could no longer do this, so much for communication :D

If they have been shut down for a while they tend to lose coolant, that is why they get checked every evening before they go into service.

The engines will be shut down so therefore quieter / different sound. The challenge will be getting the engines to start when you require them.

Maintained at Polmadie for several years, pics are a couple of years old. Voyagers have their own repair shed now.

Their are only two technicians in Scotland who maintain the QSK19. Any risk to the set through failed engines could possably see sets being routed to Central Rivers for repair under electric power. Just wondering if their jobs would be at risk? Electric power cannot be good for an engine...
