Hello,
for the direct trains between Germany and France run in cooperation between DB and SNCF, there is a special fares. FIP coupons are only valid for domestic journeys on those. However, the FIP card fare seems to have not changed for employees of non-involved railways at €10 2nd class/€20...
As you already found out, booking international Renfe trains can be difficult. As far as I am aware FIP is only available from Spanish ticket offices. I am currently in Spain but on the way here I used a Black Friday offer for Marseille-Madrid (€45 in 1st class). DB can sell domestic Spanish...
Hi,
this train isn't an IRT train (global fare) so a normal reservation bought through cd.cz will be enough. Beware that this is a commercial train so a CZK160 supplement for FIP coupons will be due. This can also be bought in advance here...
Hi,
I've made a booking this year, total port tax was £20 but judging from what British staff pay I believe this to be £15 for Liverpool-Belfast and £5 for all other routes.
To this you need to add another £2 Environmental Charge each way.
All other extras are charged at the public fare (cabins...
It's not a new thing that Radiostop has been abused in Poland. This article comes up from 2011 (Polish but translator works reasonably well). And as it's just analogue radio the fallback is to repeat a word sequence a certain number of times. This obviously doesn't cause the brakes to come on...
Took a through coach from Bratislava to Kosice last year (R 627/EN 443). Eastbound it arrives in Zilina at 22:36 and doesn't depart again till 04:34 resulting in a stop of 5:59. But that's in the middle of the night and you would've had a bit over two hours to enjoy the restaurant if you got on...
Hi,
I am planning to also use the HS line that day. Paris Nord - Lille trains have been reduced significantly and are showing as departing from Paris Est that weekend. Eurostar have the same problem (scroll all the way down to the bottom).
I've found that the dining car can actually get fairly full on some sections on these trains.
However, unlike some previous advice, it is actually possible to reserve a seat in the restaurant car. Cost at SBB is CHF5 (a physical ticket though, need to order by phone or at a station). This comes...
PDF-menu is here, including English translation below the German text.
I can recommend the vegetable curry, decent quality as it lends itself quite well to the cooking methods used.
As you'll be in Germany before that journey you could a Bahn-Tix ticket which is essentially the German version of ticket-on-departure. Unfortunately, that bit of DB's website is only available in German. But the important bit is that you can:
Bahn-Tix-Tickets can either be bought by phone from...
Even the German Wikipedia seems to have incorrect info. ICE 1040 and ICE 1043 are indeed shown as having no Wifi in the timetable. These run Fridays and Sundays. But there's also ICE 1034/1035 Hamburg-Berlin on Saturdays.
Will be travelling on a Britrail pass plus supplement as this is better value than their own combined fares even with a 16-25 railcard that's just about still valid. (€110 1st 2days/1 month flexipass bought at my local DB ticket office). I think if you don't have a railcard this offer they sent...
Considering the fact that according to the Wikipedia article on the Class 373 only 5 of the French-owned sets with numbers 3732XX had/have 1500 V DC capability I went through the list of sets on that same article (brackets give sightings in the South of France/Alps):
373201/373202 scrapped...
Part 2 on the booking with some screenshots attached.
- Search for the connection.
- Click on the connection you want. It'll show you the ticket types. Scroll down and you'll see the available accomodation types under the heading of Night Train.
- Tick the accomodation type you want. It might...
