People can't get to night school without evening bus services and affordable ones at that.

I agree that is true for rail and big tram systems but smaller tram systems like Nottingham have pretty simple fare structures especially for singles.

The wealthier classes will have the money to save money by investing in annual school year season tickets so won't benefit (they aren't the target group) but will feel hard done by as the season tickets become less good value retrospectively.

What about trams? They keep being left out and I hoped an ex Manchester Mayor would remember about them. The problem with buses is not (just?) the price but the existence of them in rural areas. I do think if there is money for buses it could be better targeted.
