The Metrobus Enthusiasts Facebook page indicates that all of the single deck hydrogen buses are being withdrawn from service following on from the fire earlier this week.
Apparently the deckers use a different system so are not affected.
Can’t link to it as it’s a private group.
It’s even more bizarre than that, it’s a full half hourly service 5 days a week during school holidays, and Thu and Fri only during term time.
I don’t know how they are going to show that in the timetables, which of the Sussex/Surrey/Croydon school term dates they are going to use (as the...
Sorry, my poor choice of phrase.
I’ve just never known the railway to differentiate services between school holidays and term times to such a massive extent before.
Southern changes have appeared online at

The one that had piqued my interest is the re-introduction of half hourly services on the East Grinstead branch during Monday to Friday daytimes, but apparently only during school holidays...
There’s a lovely bug with the updated side dot matrix displays which doesn’t scroll the “this train terminates here” message, and the last character doesn’t fit in the space…
Tree down between Crowborough and Uckfield. What should have been the 0539 from Uckfield to London Bridge has just gone through Hurst Green ECS with a broken windscreen at the back, so there must have been contact on its outward journey.
Unless that’s their game plan (assuming there is one of course). They could interwork their Goole and York operations with the 401, 415 and 42, and, given the majority of their current network, EY probably have more of an appetite for the remaining rural operations than Arriva does given the...
How about the 401 between Selby and Goole? Cut back from the original Leeds-Selby-Goole route at deregulation, it's still running the same route between Selby Bus Station and Goole North Street to this day, by the same operator (West Riding aka Arriva Yorkshire) with the same route number...
You have to time your call on the remote gateline help points though. I see it at Oxted regularly where someone uses the remote help point on platform 2, their ticket is accepted and the gate opened for them, but other people in the exit queue then go through. Leaving you still the wrong side of...
The Leeds service was lost to Castleford because of the then upcoming Leeds clean air zone and to negate the need/cost to make Selby’s buses compliant. Selby instead gained the 408/409 Pontefract to Doncaster services from Castleford instead, but I understand these have mostly gone now.
Had a message on my local Facebook group (private group so can’t link to it) from some local councillors who’ve met with GTR and say that the 1920 Victoria to E Grinstead returns on 5th Sep.
