When I started my references were checked when they wanted to offer a job.
It's usually done by an outside company called back check. They won't pay them for nothing.

In theory you should not have to sit assessment as yours is valid for 5 years. Gtr is one of the highest pass marks and you do more than what is required by dft.
You should be on the national database which is what lorol would check.
Personally I would give lorol recruitment a call.

Depot is open to drivers of sorts. I know 3 of the new di's there.
