    New Station for Okehampton

I passed that signage on a bus yesterday and I am pleased to say that it has been sorted out.

    New Station for Okehampton

I caught the 10.28 from Okehampton Interchange to Exeter today, 22 passengers boarded which seemed quite respectable for a brand new station. The train was already half full with people from the old town station.

    Visiting former Yugoslavian Republics

I did an afternoon trip from Podgorica to Bar & back last September. I travelled out on an EMU & back on a short loco-hauled train. The line is quite scenic, crossing Lake Skadar and later after a tunnel through a mountain ridge, views out to sea. There was a bit of late running coming back...

No trains to Okehampton due to heat - 13/08/26

No trains to Okehampton or Okehampton Interchange at all today - weather related apparently. Why Okehampton has been singled out for this treatment is unclear; trains to Barnstaple ARE running...

Pub near Paddington prior to the Night Riviera

My suggestion would be The Bear in Spring Street - literally just a couple of minutes' walk from Paddington station. Up the ramp beside the Elizabeth Line entrance, cross Praed Street, and it's there on the left. The pub is in the Good Beer Guide, it has six changing real ales from small...

What are those train shakers at London Euston for?

Dawlish Warren on the facing crossover from the down line to the reversible up line at the country end of the station.

Train drivers’ decades-long ticket fraud ‘cost taxpayer millions

And there, I suspect, we have it in a nutshell. This is why I don't buy a newspaper, or subscribe to a newspaper website.

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

It's a 166! Almost always faulty, and has been since they entered service back in NSE days. Ironically the 165, designed for shorter journeys and built without air-conditioning, is now much cooler in hot weather.

    Visiting former Yugoslavian Republics

I visited Kosovo last year on an organised tour. We entered from Albania by road with passports being inspected but not stamped. The same applied when we left and returned to Albania. Two days later, we took the day train from Podgerica (Montenegro) to Belgrade (Serbia) with no passport problems.

    New Station for Okehampton

Good news - do you have a start date for that please?

Are TOCs obliged to state the reason for a delay?

Because the other train was behind a late running train in front of it?. I'll get my coat.

Paignton station relocation / modernisation / expansion & regeneration of the area?

However the 10.14 Paignton to Manchester loads well, even though it's usually a five car. People standing west of (i.e. before) EXETER last week! I was one of them.....

Railway themed pub signs good and bad

I'm sure this may have been covered before somewhere, but I couldn't find anything. I spotted this Campaign for Real Ale howler on the outside of the Station House pub next to Whitland station in West Wales. I sampled some very good beer, but I think it might be a long wait for the next TGV...

    World Cup 2026

No, but I think countries should seriously consider pulling out of FIFA if such a thing is possible en masse. Seconded!

    Salisbury-Paddington open return

Lots do, especially when the GW main line is up the creek, which is not exactly unknown.
