Are they not hares and Leverets?

With the Norfolk dialect some of them are 'hare a bit late'

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

The PRM deadline was put there to ensure that new stock was ordered. It has been, it will be in service as soon as it can be. Nobody is served by refusing an extension to the derogations, it won't make the PRM compliant stock reach service any faster

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

There must be a sensible derogation solution, such as trains on the hour (or half hour) to be PRM compliant, whilst the full fleet comes into service

Experiences of travelling on Greater Anglia FLIRT trains (Classes 745/755)

It can be a bit of both. Seats which are uncomfortable for a significant number of people are not good design, even if the majority of people find them perfectly reasonably comfortable. These have more padding and a less extreme pitch than the seats in the IEPs and god forbid the Thameslink...

Experiences of travelling on Greater Anglia FLIRT trains (Classes 745/755)

I'm a stickler for seat comfort too. I haven't been on a 745 but did travel from Stanstead to Norwich on a 755 (which I assume has the same seats) and I don't think they are too bad (certainly not compared to other new trains I've been on). If they are making your back ache terribly then...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

the board was showing the 12:30 as cancelled when i made my decision...it was an interesting diversion

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

I thought I'd read that the 13:00 was the turn most likely to be a 321. Still glad I avoided 3 trainloads in one, even if it would have been a 90

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

12:00 and 12:30 LST to NRW cancelled so hopped on the 11:55 stanex and picked up the 755 to Norwich there. Approaching Wymondham as we speak. Apart from the intrusive heating ducts and cantilevers and the ugly window rubbers these are pretty much perfect regional...let alone local...trains...

Why can’t modern rolling stock be as spacious and comfortable as Mk 1 coaches?

A lot of the research suggests that what we traditionally think of as 'good posture' or bad posture has little or no effect when it comes to predicting back problems. What does make back problems worse; however is sitting in awkward positions....which we'll usually feel as discomfort. The...

Transport Secretary gives the go-ahead to 24 New Schemes and announces over £600M of

Anyone who has ever tried to get to Norwich past Elveden on summer Friday knows that the A11 really needs the last few miles dualling. Not saying others don't too but there would have been riots if the A11 had been cancelled again. It should have been done 20 years ago, come to that the M11...

Rumour has it that Chiltern have snapped up the IE Mark 3s

It would make more sense for NXEA to acquire them for the GEML where there are capacity problems

    Network Rail's 31s

there was a mention in Joint Line that an ex-NR 31 may be coming to reside on the NNR. Don't know if that means they are reducing the fleet

    Yellow ends

Didn't RAF Hawk Trainers change from red to black because, after extensive research, black was found to be the 'colour' which was easiest to spot? In which case the addition of a yellow patch on the front of the 332s was a retrograde step for safety as well as aesthetically

    Victoria line new stock

Rode on one on Friday for the first time. They're ugly (inside and from the side) and most importantly really uncomfortable, I agree that the seat fabric looks shabby from new. To be fair they are quieter and have slightly better acceleration than the old stock and I think there is more usable...
