TfW class 398 Stadler Citylink tram trains

A couple of unsuccessful attempts were made to transfer 398032 to Cardiff by rail. Is this unit still at Old Dalby? If not when and how did it make the journey?

Delay repay on a circular journey with multiple tickets

How much did you pay for all of the tickets? I'd be thinking what is a reasonable cost for half-a-day track bashing? If you are a railway enthusiast, is it morally acceptable not to pay something for the journey? Even though you were delayed, you got some satisfaction from doing the journey...

Flying Scotsman - Watercress to York.

The train spent more than an hour in Kings Norton yard, where there was much shunting, with the two Class 20's involved too. The t/t HST power cars and coach were reformed so that when it left the two power cars led, with FS immediately behind followed by the coach, presumably allowing a quick...

I'm afraid it didn't happen. HST Power Cars went to Old Dalby this morning, not the 20's.

The 20's arrived back at Kings Norton Yard this afternoon after spending the last week dragging new Tyne & Wear Metro light rail units from Dollands Moor (at the UK end of the Channel Tunnel) to Pelaw, Newcastle. I think this augers well for their use with the 398 (398032?). Fingers crossed!

Neither! I believe the HST's came back to Kings Norton empty-handed.

TfW class 398 Stadler Citylink tram trains

The tram was actually taken to Pengam by HST power cars 43467 and 43468 and NOT the twenties!

TfW class 398 Stadler Citylink tram trains

Looking at this thread, and photos on Flickr, I calculate there is only one tram left at Old Dalby - 398015. Can anyone confirm this?

... the one at the front was not just any 20! 20007 is nearly 70 years old, and was one of the BR 'Pilot scheme' locos, entering traffic in 1957! It is the oldest diesel loco still in service on the National Network.
