You are expected to be within range after completion of your course at Basingstoke. I applied to Waterloo for a trainee driver position. I told them I had to relocate, and I was accepted. I lived in Essex and rented an apartment for the course in Basingstoke. When I passed I moved to Isleworth...
I started in March 2020 and just passed my part 2 sim final today. I have my part 3 driving final on Wednesday. We started with 5 types of traction, now down to 4 due to retirement of 456.
The extended length of time is 80% down to covid, and like previous posts state, DI availability, which...
No they won’t sack you, in a nut shell: they receive money as part of a government initiative, getting staff across the country to a certain level of maths, english and IT.
So it’s in the interest of both you and SWR to get the accreditations.
I had english and maths but not IT, you will do...
I can confirm that Training has resumed, however at a slower rate because of COVID-19. SWR take social distancing very seriously and have done a great job. They clearly care about their staff as the conditions at the training centre in Basingstoke are strict, we even have 1 trainer per 6...
Great, I will see you there!
I’m currently considering the Brixton/Clapham/Herne Hill/Battersea/East Dulwich areas at the moment. Where I could run/walk/bike to Waterloo should public transport fail due to weather etc.
Thank you, as you can imagine, I’m elated.
2/3/20, subject to successfully passing DBS and reference checks.
I live in Hertfordshire so i will be relocating to within 45 minutes of Waterloo. They require proof of moving after 2 months of my start date.
Hi,
Does any one have any information on the work reference process that SWR require once they have made you a conditional offer? Like how many they need and how far back they ask for?.
I have just received one for a trainee train driver(Waterloo), so I want to be prepared.
References and DBS...
Hey, sorry for the delay.
I had my MMI at 09:00am Thursday, and they called me at 15:00 saying I passed and booked me on to a medical at 10:00am the next day.
I asked the HR Person when the next course would be and she said they are trying for the 2nd. Hence the quick turn around.
Cheers, the thanks should be spent on the recruitment team in Southampton. They made it happen, I owe a lot to the two ladies Bev and Katie in head office. And Chloe in leake street.
Will post more when I receive the contract, can’t count my chickens until then.
Thank you.
21/1/20 - Had DMI
06/2/20 - Phone call saying I passed
13/2/20 - Had MMI
13/2/20 - Phone call saying I passed
