Hi guys
A month ago I'd booked tickets for myself and the wife from St Pancras to Girona on Trainline, via the two Paris stops, for
three weeks this September.
Unfortunately my good lady suffered a stroke yesterday so said trip has now been put on hold/cancelled.
Can somebody point me in the...
*wasn't sure what section to include this so please move if needs be.
Yesterday I finally completed all the stations from Zones 1-6 in Greater London.
Something I'd started, unwittingly, circa 1957 but a couple of years back, and
with Freedom pass in hand, I decided to go for broke and around...
I'm convinced that I made a similar trip back in May 1988.
Overnight from Newhaven to Dieppe and I believe, my first TGV from Rouen to Montpellier before getting on the 'party train' aka Talgo to one of the border stops or Girona.
Although I was informed a few months back that TGVs never...
Walked it the once - late 80s/early 90s. #parisstrike
Was much younger then and had a fair bit of luggage too but
sure I walked North via 'Republique'?
Got the special 'Hoverport' train from GdN. Happy days!
Good call but to be honest it's not the end of the world.
Didn't go into Climate Doom Goblin mode but just found the totally somewhat OTT.
Happy bloody Christmas... :E
Not sure if this is the correct forum but stick with it.
Ordered two return tickets from London to the South coast for
a four-day period over the Christmas holidays.
Went to my local station today and decided to pick them up.
.....18 tickets later - is this usual?
Not me personally but c2002, back in the days of Waterloo, our Eurostar from Paris had been scheduled for an 8pm (ish)
arrival until all routes back to London were suddenly blocked following tunnel falls as the train came to a halt just past Ashford.
We then proceeded to crawl, and I mean...
Crossing Paris [Nord to GdL] by RER/Metro for the first time must be the experience from hell for the uneducated.
Been doing it at least once a year since 1988 and still have to keep my wits about me. Platform 44 ... my ar$e.
Also, not sure if anyone has voted for Farringdon yet but I'd...
I worked for Express newspapers at the time and on NYE 1999 there was a monster party on the balcony overlooking the Thames.
When everything died down, we sauntered down to Southwark station where I encountered a 'closed in' platform the first time.
Everything was open that night of course so...
Re above...My old cardboard ticket failed to work but purchased a Navigo thingy on the E*.
Both Paris GdN and Lyon are still a complete sh!t show and I even got stuck in the gates - one
suitcase and two other bags - before a local came to my rescue.
God forbid there was any staff around to...
No rail connection between Girona airport and town, although I suspect the lack of many links around the world could be pressure from local taxi drivers.
I believe in some countries, these guys pay a fortune for their 'ticket' and see the iron horse as a major threat to any future income.
