First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

And they operate in different directions around Thornbury, at different frequencies (hence why they take massively different times to get from Rock St to the Health Centre). The only interworking that I can see is that some early morning T2s from Thornbury head north as T1s first, starting at...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Just been having a look at the timetables for the Thornbury changes this coming weekend. The T1 looks as though it will be 4 vehicles, but does anyone 'in the know' know how the T2 is going to be worked - at face value, it will have 33 minute layover at the bus station; seems excessive? There...

I noticed a few days ago that 'Parkway Tavern' is now 'Hatchet Lane'.

And it continues, sometimes for the second or third ''reduction". One of the Bristol - Thornbury routes used to be the 309/609 (commercial/subsidised), it then became just the 309 (commercial & subsidised), then it became the 78. At the end of this month it will become the T2.

    Cities with duplicated bus numbers

Bath has two routes 37. First's 37 from Bristol via Bitton. Coachstyle's 37 from Malmesbury via Acton Turville (one return journey on Wednesdays) And a bit of a tenuous one, but Bristol technically currently has two 506s. They are both run by Bristol Community Transport (CT Plus). The...

Just seen an ABus Solo on the Centre on the X9 (showing 515 on the rear!). How long have ABus been back on that route?

This week's Traveline update shows that there will be a Sunday 46 after the May changes.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Not quite right. See my earlier post, the T1 serves the Thornbury loop anticlockwise every half hour. The T2 serves a slightly different loop clockwise hourly. There will clearly need to be a significant rethink of the other BStk servixes - it could make sense for the 73 to revert to serving...

Its also worth noting that the clockwise Thornbury route is hourly, as it is the T2, but the anticlockwise route is half-hourly as it is the T1. The Thornbury circulars seem to be a variation on a theme from the 78/79, so I'm not sure that First are trying to oust the subsidised 77, although...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

The 79 is 51 minutes off-peak Bus Station to Rock St. The T1 is 42 minutes off-peak Broadmead to Rock St. Sample journeys in the evening peak: Leaving town first journey after 1800: Now 59 minutes between the above points (1805-1904), new timetable 42 minutes (1818-1900). Thats more than...
