    i know it doesn't sound a lot but when you account for the shear volume of initial applications, it doesn't even bear thinking about.

    I don't know about London Midland but my friend works in HR for East Mids and they get a horrendous amount of applications for any Trainee Driver job, be it depot or mainline. You couldn't even put 5% through for interview because the number of applicants is so high.

    Recruitment in the rail industry is notoriously slow and for good reason as they want to find the best candidates to put through the selection process for the roles. A lot of people need to relax a bit, its just a job.

    Aren't the Scotrail 158s starting to go through a new refurbishment programme so that the whole fleet is alligned, including losing First Class compartment and the fitting of at seat power sockets etc etc. Bry
