The main home signal was No:54 with a calling on arm No:55. In 1986 there was a 4 way theatre type route indicator, 1 to platform 1 etc. There was a ground signal No:56 which was to all sidings.
How is the work going? I saw a picture the other day of some of the new points and it looked like wooden sleepers where being used, would concrete sleepers not have been better or is it due to being on a viaduct?
In the good old days you could knock out a demic vehicle and it would stay in a siding for weeks. So the question is how easy is it to split a 390? Could they have split it at Lockerbie and moved it by road from there, or is 3 nights to get back to a depot the better option.

Go up the slope to Fishergate cross the road and 20 yards on the right is the Old Vic, plenty of local cask ales and they have live departures on a tv.

Another little problem for you to look into, Layton station has got nice new train information system, unfortunately all trains are shown as departing from Platform 1! This has been going on since it was installed after the electrification. I’ve called customer service at least 3 times and...
