TPE as follows:
Liverpool - Edinburgh ( Extended current Newcastle service) hourly via Newton-le-Willows
Liverpool - Scarborough (divert via Newton and Man Victoria)
Liverpool - Glasgow ( New, 3x daily)
From what I understand Northern will run 2 Liv - Man Airport 1 via Newton and 1 via...
It's great that Liverpool is now getting an hourly Edinburgh service and a new 3 a day to Glasgow however does that mean the NCL service is staying hourly? Wasn't that supposed to be going to 2tph? Does that mean Liverpool is keeping the SCA service? I know people in Warrington will be happy...
The reason a 4 year deal wasn't agreed was because only a '2 year no compulsory redundancy' agreement meant after 2 years no ones jobs would be safe and NR would have year 3 and 4 from the deal to cut jobs.
The new deal is still the 2 year agreement as part of a 2 year deal.
From earlier posts, am I right in understanding Liverpool - Newcastle will be half hourly? I know 2014 this service is being redirected. It thought it was hourly.
Does that mean the current Scarborough service will be re-routed, assuming Liverpool isn't getting 3 tph
Glad to see Liverpool...
As much as I think this is long overdue, I don't think it will be something that will be put into service in the near future.
I would like to see however a direct Liverpool to Wales service in the future.
I assume these are for the additional hourly Newcastle service from Liverpool that is planned. Possibly with future Scotland services being discussed (Not Confirmed) it may be to include these as well.
I have been to Liverpool Lime Street today and was looking at the actual structure and tracks that lead to the station.
With a possible new service to Newcastle, talk of scotland services (distant future), and who knows what in the future, would they be able to add new platforms/more tracks...
Sorry if I missed some news, but what is happening with Northern service to Manchester Airport via st Helens junction?
I must say, I'm glad another TPE service has been added direct to Liverpool, however I'm not sure about it going via Victoria.
It is such a shame, reading all the servies that used to serve Liverpool that have since been changed.
I do hope, in the future, Liverpool gets more support from TPE, Virgin and maybe ever XC along with the current EMT and Northern services.
Thanks for the welcome, never knew this forum existed until a fee days ago.
I'm a scouser too and just think it would be nice if more direct services ran, example to Wales and even Scotland should TPE have the units to do an individual service or split with a Manchester unit.
Manchester was just an example, yeah some changes can include Crewe and Preston. It just seems a shame as Liverpool used to have all these services direct.
There is an hourly EMT service to Nottingham/Norwich which includes Stockport, Sheffield and on some services Peterborough.
At the moment Liverpool has steady services from the mainline station (usually hourly) to Blackpool North, Man Airport / Victoria, London, Leeds, York, Sheffield etc..., with Birmingham and Wigan servced every half hour and Manchester frequently.
Its nice to hear LM are proposing competition...
Can someone clarify for me, currently there are two LM services Liverpool to Birmingham NS per hour. I have read that there is a proposal to extend the Euston Crewe serve to Liverpool and divert a Liverpool service to Birmingham. Will that still mean two services by LM, for example...
