Not really, the shunt drivers should be doing their handling hours by March, so the classroom will be free for the new starters.

Was in a talent pool for 15-16 months after passing the DMI, they then closed the talent pool so it's back to square one.

Might also be worth contacting Vital Human Resources (ex Vital Rail) 0161 836 7000 or their parent company Morson 0161 707 1516. They're based in Manchester but have works throughout the UK. Their receptionists should be able to provide you with an email address to send your CV in to.

They currently have a pool of successful applicants from the last lot of vacancies they had, not sure how many are left in it as I imagine a few have gone to Northern and possibly Arriva too. There's been no word since though.

Received an email this morning (applied for Crewe driver) to say they won't be progressing the vacancy until January 2017, due to a change in the business needs. However, will be in contact in the New Year. Not sure if that's the same for all driver positions, or just Crewe.
