It's been mentioned above, but stations that are a shadow of their former selves - Ambergate is the one that springs most readily to mind for me. Also when I see a loco being moved by road - I appreciate there are reasons why they sometimes can't be moved by rail, but it still feels like a shame.

If we're including the Underground, Chesham is a very nice place to wait for a train.

Carto Metro has now been updated to show that the Elizabeth line core has opened.

Obviously this is subjective, but I much prefer the moquette that Geoff Marshall says won't be used (at 04.03 in the video) over the one that will be. I like the darker blue, and the lines all going in the same direction give a feeling of speed, somehow.

I haven't done this myself, but I think Wimbledon to East Croydon is quicker going via Clapham Junction than taking the direct tram (if you're allowing them as well).

Hope this hasn't come up before. My local station, Ewell West, has (as far as I know) never had a diesel passenger service, having switched from steam to electric traction in 1925. I was wondering which other stations (existing stations only) can say the same.

I think it stays on the Greenford line to operate the shuttle to and from West Ealing all day, then it forms the 21.55 to Paddington.
