    Itapped on an didnt realized tapping out outside zone. Berkhamstead to Milton Keynes central.

    Hypothetically, if the penalty fare was withdrawn due to non-payment and criminal proceedings instigated instead, what would be the offence? As far as I can see the bye-laws are focussed on entering the train without a valid ticket and RORA 1899 talks about "knowingly and wilfully" travelling...

    New Avanti Web Site Layout

    Yes that feels...misleading. You can avoid this though; when selecting the return date/time there is an option at the top of the pop-up to select "Anytime (Open return)". This will then result in just return type tickets being offered.

    Not via London anomaly?

    As that ticket doesn't have a cross-london (+) mark, might the gate line at Victoria reject it anyway, regardless of the easement?

    Penalty fare notice - card blocked by TfL

    I don't own an Apple device but if the same card is used in both "slots" would they present the same virtual card number?

    Penalty fare notice - card blocked by TfL

    @MikeWh, perhaps you might know this; if the phone happens to be unlocked at the point of an RPI check, would the wrong card be scanned?

    Greater Anglia / ITAL £12k demand after Staff Oyster boundary issue

    A good solicitor with experience of dealing with train companies and their agents may well be able to negotiate a significant reduction in the settlement offer. For instance, as you were in possession of valid tickets between Ipswich and Shenfield, perhaps ITAL would be willing to focus just on...

    Pink reader (again)

    fastjp.com shows journeys via Highbury and Islington, so that's likely the expected default route.

    Contactless Fare TFL / GWR

    Doesn't the back-end system attempt to find the cheapest fare? I would have thought that multiple tap-ins straddling the peak/off-peak threshold would be a prime candidate and the OSI would be broken automatically.

    West Midlands Trains - Digital fraud team

    And if I may make a further suggestion: you may now feel uncomfortable about accepting a lift from your partner and buying the "short" ticket. But if you stop doing that, the train company may take that as "evidence" that you were previously short-faring. I would recommend making your journeys...

    Delay Repay claims rejected

    Not for me. I submitted two claims on Wednesday afternoon and although I haven't received email confirmation, going online showed that that one claim was approved on Thursday and the other today (Friday).

    25/11 Partial cancellation of 10:06 Waterloo->Hampton Court

    I see. So once the cancellations had been announced, it wasn't practical to reinstate them at such short notice. Thanks.

    25/11 Partial cancellation of 10:06 Waterloo->Hampton Court

    Just curious really, but the 10:06 from Waterloo to Hampton Court was cancelled from Vauxhall to Wimbledon inclusive but then called at remaining stations. It was no more than 2 minutes late at the cancelled stations and in fact was early at Wimbledon. Would be interested to know what the...

    Email from WMT’s Digital Fraud Team

    That "Recall" email seems very strange. Is WMT trying to row back on its accusation? What were the contents of that follow-up email? Any noticeable differences from the original?

    Train ticket retailers charging my card with an MCC which doesn't specify train ticket purchase

    Chase themselves say that seemingly eligible transactions may not earn cashback due to the MCC. (https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/support/where-can-i-earn-cashback/)
