Talking about general confusion, do we have any idea when a final decision will be made about whether to go ahead? What exactly are the government waiting for?!!
A referendum on HS2? Considering the amount of ill-informed rubbish about HS2 on this railway forum, for people who are really interested in railways, I dread to think what the level of debate would be. As has been said numerous times, HS2 is nothing to do with "an hour shaved of 'their'...
Out of interest, do many people think HS2 will actually go ahead? I really can't see it myself. If we had a strong government with a large majority then maybe, but that doesn't look likely in the near future. I fear we have another Leeds Supertram/Picc-Vic tunnel/APT/insert many more wasted...
Has work on Transpennine electrification been unpaused or are we still in a state of pause? If the latter, do we have any idea when the pause will be unpaused? Has there even been a pause on the pause? ||
Does anyone know where I can find a list of new stations that have been approved for construction and also a list of new stations where work has actually started?
Does anyone know what counts as 'peak time' on the Newcastle to Leeds route? I'm hoping I can buy an off-peak return to travel back sometime between 3-5pm but want to make sure it's actually valid then. I've tried contacting Virgin but they haven't replied to my email or tweet.
Sorry if this has been talked about elsewhere but does anyone know exactly what the "significant improvements to the rail network" actually are for the work on the ECML at Peterborough, Holloway, Harringay and Canal Tunnels? I'm assuming it won't mean reduced journey times...
Wakefield Kirkgate. The first time I went through I wondered why we'd stopped at an abandoned station... Hopefully the redevelopment will improve matters.
Clapham Junction is seriously grim.
Manchester Oxford Road - always feel on edge if I have to go there on a night.
