TOC as far as I'm aware. I know nothing of NR side I'm afraid

    RMT Talks

Been hearing we should be getting news and an e referendum with recommendation to accept "probably this week". It's all fine. It's just taking its time as expected. People seem to have forgotten A LOT has happened in the last 9 months!

    RMT Talks

Just sounds like it's likely budget related with it being round the corner and they're probably just waiting to finalise that etc etc before sending it out. Dotting i's and crossing t's. Sounds all fair enough to me. Is what it is.

    RMT Talks

But they probably HAVE offered the same to the RMT and they're just waiting for the sign off and letter. If anything was amiss the email we recieved would have been FAR different in language and tone than what it was. I'm certainly not concerned. News will come in time...

    RMT Talks

I read it as they're simply waiting to sign it off through the official channels. They're unlikely to have offered anything they couldn't do and the RMT would have said something if the talks weren't going well. This just seems like government doing its thing. There's nothing to really be...

    RMT strike referendum passed

As I heard then. For GWR, the basic adjustment will be done for next week's pay and the overtime and Sundays affected etc will be in January, so yes, it is being done over 2 periods. With the bulk affected for next week.

    RMT strike referendum passed

Not entirely what I've heard. GWR payroll is next week. I believe they've been working on the assumption it was going to pass anyway. However I believe the backdated pay in December will be on basic salary ranges only and Jan will have the affected overtime adjustments and Sunday adjustments. I...

Aslef strike around Tory conference dates

Sorry to step in on this, do XC usually run anything Manchester to Reading on ASLEF strike days? Or Avanti to Euston?

    Network Rail RMT dispute settled.

Indeed. I went to see To Kill a Mockingbird on Saturday and was discussing this with the Ushers. They were, despite being impacted, rather supportive of the strikes and hopeful of a positive outcome soon. A functioning and useful railway system is quite critical to the nighttime economy of London.

GWR - Trainee Train Driver (Talent Pool) - Bristol/Westbury (27/02/23)

Internal vacancy list gets published on Fridays only I believe so it's possible they may have put it up today Externally and it will be released Internally on Friday? I've never known an external only for drivers jobs apart from the ever present Qualified already posts anyway as it's usually a...

New offer made to RMT by Rail Delivery Group

A thought: isn't it theoretically possible under this deal that Sundays could be loaded onto the Part time jobs and included as part of their hours instead and thus taking away Sunday work entirely from current staff and thus pay? They have a strange and consistent emphasis on this whenever...

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

With regards to route learning as a component, I recently signed 2 routes as a Guard. I haven't had to route learn for 17 years. I am a very quick learner. Could I have signed it sooner? Absolutely. Can I see why the system is designed how it is currently? Completely. Even though I am fast at...

    Frustrated with RMT

I'm a Guard. Do I want the best deal for myself? Absolutely? Do I also want the best for the other grades? Of course. This is what being in a union kinda is, isn't it? We stand as a collective for the overall benefit of all.

AMT Coffee goes into adminstration... then gets bought out by SSP

Not even a joke. That's exactly where the Reading AMT staff ended up going to after having worked there for years. Wonder if there was a change of management or new contracts imposed that caused it all? Makes you wonder...

AMT Coffee goes into adminstration... then gets bought out by SSP

SSP? Oh dear. Never a good sign that! I remember there used to be 2 at Reading but one closed when the station got redone and they refused an outlet and the other never reopened after lockdown, but the writing was on the wall a long time before that tbh. Shame, I liked stopping off at the Oxford...
