Platforms 6 and 7 in Aberdeen are both split into North and South. I have witnessed some people appearing a little confused if their train heading south is departing from 6N or 7N.

Inverness doesn't have ticket barriers. I was there in September and it was nice to be able to stroll the length of the platforms and have a look at the sheds/works etc in the middle of the "tri-angle"

Aberdeen's former platforms 8 and 9 no longer have tracks directly serving them, although there is a track running through them, right in the middle, used by HST accessing the washing plant.

Wemyss Bay has four platforms, although only two have track.

The way I see it, after EGIP the class 170's freed up would be better to stay in Scotland allowing a cascade of 156/158's to other operators such as Northern, would make sense as Northern already operate these types, also maintain some form of standardised fleet.
