    London Buses Discussion

209 & 378 won't be for much longer, both routes are being restructured later this year which sees the 209 taking over the 533 route to Hammersmith. 209 will be going to First and the 378 is off to Transport UK. EL1 & EL2 when both of those routes ran to Ilford up until March 2026, were...

It won't be starting until September at the earliest. Anything that states SL12 starts tomorrow was a false rumour that unfortunately got spread around.

South Yorkshire bus franchising gets go ahead

Not for much longer, new single door luggage rack spec BYD BD11s are due for the SL7 and should enter service in a few months time. Other Superloop routes that aren't already electric operated are due new buses at some point in the near future.

I Squared Capital - Arriva UK BUS

Most Arriva buses in London are still owned, main factor is that Arriva still has plenty of 2009/10 buses running in service in London although the numbers are dwindling in recent months and Arriva normally specfies low height double deckers outside of London whereas TfL do mandate full height...

Yes with the previous allocation on the 22 (a mix of Evosetis and B5LH Gemini 2 hybrids) moved to Northumberland Park garage for the upcoming takeover of the 123 from Arriva next Saturday

335 was S106 funded at least when it started to cover the costs of running a direct Kidbrooke to North Greenwich bus which the developers at the time requested for. I believe some trips on the A10 mainly the early morning trips are funded by Heathrow, though I could be wrong.

Trivia: All stop routes that were replaced by express/limited stop routes

This weekend saw the 472 route in London, which stopped at all stops along the route, being replaced by the new limited stop Superloop SL11 route during daytime hours. Night service on the 472 was renumbered as N472 and still serves all stops as before, just at night hours instead of the whole...

Railway Improvements That Have Led to Major Cuts In Bus Services

Clifton as well, plenty of massive reductions on bus services there since the NET extension to Clifton South, Navy 48 went from every 7 mins service during the peak hours using long wheelbase Omnidekkas prior to the trams to only every 20 mins using double deckers before it went up to every 15...

SL2 moving to Tottenham garage is nothing to do with Arriva Barking being unable to go electric and is largely because TfL have requested for end of route driver changeover point where running from Tottenham is more cost effective option as it isn't too far from the Walthamstow end of route.

Trivia: largest place without late evening journeys

Brentwood (population of around 55,000) has no evening buses after 8pm, with the exception of TfL 498 to/from Romford.

Trivia: Towns with a large number of operators

Metroline got the 142 in 2023 and the 258 in February this year, both of those routes came over from RATP and was operated by Arriva Garston in the past. Sullivan never ran any TfL routes into Watford and their commercial work hasn't changed much recently.

I wouldn't rule that completely as Go Ahead won the route and I wouldn't be surprised if they ordered BYD BD11s for the BL1 or even Wright Streetdeck Electroliners.

The E200EVs that were used on the 485 are the ones destined for the P12 which is still isn't fully electric due to issues with electrification at Peckham garage, though few more have recently moved to Peckham for use on the P12. If the 493 is retained by Go Ahead, it would be more likely be...
