Yup, horrendous. Just when you think it’s safe to return to using buses in the town after Princes Street fully re-opens and the festival finishes they then go and set this lot up! They really are doing their best to destroy any reliability with bus travel in the city centre. For both bus...

I had a feeling that might be the case when they started repainting the deckers, wasn’t there a bus removed from the 26 as well? Presume the 20 White Knight will be back?

Another public spat between Central Connect and Essex County Council. This time on BBC Look East last night over school bus fare hikes. CC putting up the price of an annual pass on one route from £404 to £999! Parents up in arms with ECC saying they haven’t been approached by CC to help with...

Ipswich Buses have announced only a minor town change for this September; peaktime adjustment to service 4. In better news, the 8B will become the 18 (which it always should have been imo) with new evening journeys extending to Claydon. It’s the first time in about 30 years they’ve had buses to...

This change whilst it brings a few improvements is mainly re-organising a few minor things. Not every change has to include massive alterations. Next year may be a different story however with all the new stock.

If that article is to be believed the 44 is getting re-routed to serve London Road then (instead of Regent Road). One positive is that the London Road to Jocks Lodge section will also benefit the multiple other routes using those roads including East Coast Buses. Win win.

Yes. There will be a press release and details this week on the website… change date is 13th September. That’s all I can say.

Well that’s an interesting turn of events! It’s a very odd way of saving a service - the residents really do need to make sure they use it or it will disappear. Any idea what electric vehicle they’ve ordered? Also, with 23-25 being repainted into emerald; does this mean the ‘summer’ reductions...

Interesting regarding the Colchester Park & Ride contract reward - Stephensons don’t currently operate in Colchester… but if they could also get their hands on Arriva’s garage plus a couple of city services (big if) it would be a natural bolt on to their business. Arriva are at a turning point...

Ideally, extra buses would be put on to compensate for the loss of the tram - such as airlink etc. however there simply isn’t the drivers available to do this. Lothian also have a lot of back office changes going on at the moment and arguably; enough focus isn’t being put on keeping a reliable...

Carnage in Edinburgh today with the closure of Princes Street. Many buses 30-60 minutes late with multiple bunching, diversions and part routes. Looking at bustimes the worse pinch points are Shandwick Place and George Street (at 1311 there were four inbound Airlinks sat in this stretch alone)...

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

It’s better that than no bus at all and the trips being cancelled altogether.

Changing topic but does anyone know after almost 7 years how the Scania Enviro 400 City’s are performing on the Excel? I remember at the time of their order and introduction a lot of talk regarding suitability etc. and First trialled a variety of types beforehand. They must have clocked up a...

I thought the whole purpose was to make them similar so a Leicester bus is easy identifiable and comes under the same brand? To be fair, all those differentials listed above are so minor the casual user would not be able to tell the difference; after all a bus is a bus.

Existing operators in the Ipswich and East Suffolk area are already concerned with driver recruitment/retention due to Sizewell C - I can see the problem only getting worse before it gets better. Wouldn’t surprise me if TMS receive some new E400MMC’s for these Suffolk One services - they’ll be...
