As I understand, police in the UK now use the term Road Traffic Collision (RTC) rather than RTA, on the assumption that, as in this case, nearly all such incidents involve some level of responsibility.
Does anybody know the reason for the delay to this service. At Charing we heard initially that it was a fire on one of the diesels at Lenham, then that it was failure of a diesel.
With all of the major work being carried out, not only Crossrail, there is probaly a lot of railway archeology being uncovered. The Shakespeare Cliff is one example where it won't be practical to preserve it, but how much of it is even appreciated, let alone recorded.

Noticed the warning/stop lights went off when the barriers were raised. A cyclist chanced his arm but other motorists were sensible enough to stay put. Should there be a facility to raise the barriers without cancelling the lights?
