A lot of buses for Dublin have bespoke designs to allow for a more raked windscreen to the mainland UK equivalent
Certainly the case on ALX400s, Envrio400s and Geminis - even the newly ordered Enviro400Citys that are in Ireland appear to have a deeper windscreen than the normal versions
Ah yes so maybe as you say both the emergency exit and very high windowline are required - you can have no roof but you still need the side windows to be a certain height above the seats perhaps?
Stagecoach Merseyside Gillmoss - all drivers tend to know all the main routes from the start
Other routes such as Merseytravel tenders and contracts such as the Edge Hill Uni bus etc only a smaller number of drivers who are on them regularly would know them.
I am correct in thinking Stagecoach was the only company to buy MAN 18.240/Alexander Dennis Enviro300s brand new?
On a similar vein of unusual Enviros, First Glasgow had the only batch of UK spec ADL chassis Enviro500s, Dublin bus the only batch of Volvo B9TL/ADL Enviro500s and Courtney Coaches...

Stagecoach appear to have all the Merseyside based ex Halton Transport schools contracts
Stagecoach MCSL Gillmoss depot had 18 buses out on Christmas Day on a mix of services across Merseyside
Stagecoach, Arriva and others in Merseyside have a limited service Boxing Day and New Years Day - not Sunday service but major routes only and generally nothing too late
I am definitely a fan of Enviro400MMCs, much better than their predecessors.
Optare Solos I like too, good tools for the jobs but mainly the shorter ones. Bigger Solos have such poor lock on steering they can be a pain to drive.
Can't really fault many buses I've driven, Optare Aleros though...
I did Liverpool to Manchester, by Stagecoach bus the other day (admittedly on a staff pass) using this link at Wigan between Stagecoach MCSL and Stagecoach Manchester.
A friend mentioned though they also meet at Bolton with the 125 from Preston depot and route 7 (I think) from Wigan depot.
I think both Stagecoach Manchester (Wigan) and Stagecoach MCSL (Preston) both serve Wigan - I'm sure when I was there last year I saw Preston allocated Solo around various Wigan vehicles but that is without checking.
