Yes, for Legionella, see my previous post

    Sink water on trains

The water used to fill the tanks on our trains, used for flushing and hand washing, is dosed with hydrogen peroxide.

    Sink water on trains

In our case it does come from a hosepipe, but i certainly wouldn't drink from it. The water is treated with a chemical to prevent legionella which makes it unsuitable to drink. The storage method of the hoses used to fill the tanks would make it unsuitable to drink. The tanks are not...

    Very poor lighting on trains

Lighting faults, along with other electrical issues have happened previously, and will happen again. So to answer your question, yes, other people have experienced it before. I'm disappointed that you decided it's down to poor maintenance and / or maintenance staff "not doing their job". A...

    SWR Diesel Fleet Refurbishment

Yes. It won't be back in service for a bit whilst other units require spares/repair.

    SWR Diesel Fleet Refurbishment

Unfortunately I suspect still a couple of weeks yet.

    SWR DMU issues

Just to assist a little with understanding the issue; Once the roof space gets too hot the air con has safety systems built in to prevent it running as it may have a fault. There are mods being trialled to attempt to negate this issue but they take time to test and prove before being rolled...

    SWR Diesel Fleet Refurbishment

It may be a couple of weeks yet. There are inspections and adjustments required at the depot to allow it to be signed off ready for service. These checks are more in depth than those that allow the unit to return ECS to Salisbury.

    RMT Talks

I suspect the delay may be partially due to ironing out minimum pay rise threshold, something that didn't apply to the drivers rise. As has been mentioned several times, it would create a great deal of bad feeling by agreeing drivers rise then messing the rest about.

Free travel arrangements for staff on different TOCs.

As a local agreement SWR staff (I am unsure if this is extended to all First Group) get priv on Red Funnel, Wightlink and Hovertravel (foot passenger) and discount with a car. I know not a TOC but useful information none-the-less. SWR also gets Island Line.

    Possible Movement in RMT Dispute.

Worth noting that different TOCs have different pay anniversary dates. So the 2022 backpay may be less than what is being quoted here, just in case anyone was making financial decisions based on it.

Trains subject to a platform alteration

Platform changes can sometimes be if a quick check/repair is required on a particular side of the unit.

New timetable change means getting into work 1 minute before shift start.

I know our TOC will allow you (with a local agreement with a manager) train variance, basically to allow you to start/finish earlier/later within reason as long as you do your contracted hours.
