Sunday Work - A New Honesty?

You do know about the changes to strike laws and being able to support your colleagues in other grades restricting what you can do,you bare no ill feelings but so clearly do or you wouldn’t be bringing these issues up regularly ,I have heard of many collections by drivers at most depots across...

Sunday Work - A New Honesty?

30 years of pay increases T&Cs negotiated by Aslef suggest it’s not just supply and demand but many many changes to the job role of a driver but let’s leave that there ,Sunday working should of been sorted properly in 1996 across all prospective Tocs it wasn’t ,the Dft will need to do some...

Sunday Work - A New Honesty?

Jealousy It’s rather insulting to say all ops staff are low skilled and to be so dismissive of entering the drivers grade before privatisation, you know that everything is done by negotiation Aslef over the years has negotiated better had more solidarity within its specific grade and on many...

Sunday Work - A New Honesty?

It does seem you have an issue with drivers pay and T&Cs not being fair compared to other grades if you’ve been on the railway since privatisation you’ve had plenty of opportunity to become a driver also you would know that in the early 2000s drivers moving from Toc to Toc made for very...

WMT Drivers RDW to end tonight Wednesday 11/12/24 00:01. *Now reinstated until 21/12/24* *New 30 month deal agreed*

You are correct it’s not a choice, each Toc has to have X no.of managers per X no. of drivers and is mandated as you know , and as boring as it is to point out ,you fully understand the irony intended by my post I might add sorry for being so droll !!

I think it’s been said many times being able to retire with relatively short notice and practically no training of new drivers for 18 months are large factors but it’s still not a good excuse, the only way to reduce the dependence on RDW is to make it vastly more expensive for whoever is in...

Swr have guaranteed F/D s the amount differs from depot to depot and they still cannot cover the work required so the idea of being paid to do nothing went 25 years ago

SWRs rest day working agreement runs until timetable change 2025 that’s why nothing has been discussed .
