Rumours regarding TPE replacing the Northern offering between Doncaster and Scunthorpe from Decemeber 25 were flying around but the paths seem to be in for Northern to continue with these. The only change I've noticed is 2P32 (2248 SCU-DON) becomes 2R70 (2248 SCU-SHF). Interestingly 2R70 runs...
Two trains have collided at Talerddig, Wales. Both trains are reported to be Class 158s running in 2 car sets. (Source, Realtime trains)
At this time this is a developing situation and not all details are out in the open.
The trains involved are believed to be:
1S71 Machynlleth to Shrewsbury...
This sounds like the more serious incident out of them all, unfortunately injuries have been reported. Thoughts are with the crew and passengers involved.
66430 never made it. The 56s hauled themselves to Blackburn. The points failure was infact a run through meaning the DRS Cl66 would have had to attend via Preston.
In reply to Throthy yes sorry we did depart P1 at Piccadilly, both trains, my mistake.
The more I think about it everyone did the job correctly after the mistake having been made. Thankfully picked up without too much of a fuss. We ended up about 30L into Huddersfield and 20L into Sheffield on...
Thank you for the reply, that's along the lines of what I was thinking could have led to such an occurance. Ovcoruse to the signaller sat on the panel seeing the headcode they will act accordingly and that's what happened. I guess once the mistake or error is made its a case of relaying on the...
Evening, Feel free to move if this is in the wrong place etc.
This evening I'm travelling on 1B26 the 1648 Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield. After awaiting train crew we finally departed Manchester Piccadilly P3 at 1700. Behind us on the same platform was 2E73 the 1700 Manchester Piccadilly...
On the Hull trains front 1H04 was cancelled and 1H05 has run to time so far with the unit 802303 from 1H04. Quite a good little move from Hull Trains with 1H05 been one of the only departures to time for hours out of Kings Cross. It is however very busy and now slowing in the St Neots area...
I believe it was in the original plans and franchise however things may have changed along the way. 333s have and occasionally work the Doncaster currently.
The bottom line of it is there are no replacement buses available anymore. The PSVAR requirements have reduced numbers of vehicles and the prices paid by the railway have reduced the number of operators willing. Its only going to get worse.
Correct. Platforms 2, 3 & 4 all take units when the centre roads and Fishdock are full, sometimes when they are not. It's about all Platform 2 is good for now unless they start some silly 150 operated Sheffield-Dore peak extras.
For me I think services should be split at Carmarthen. Although you can argue passengers will wish to use a direct train from Pembroke Dock to London or Milford Haven to Hereford the demand cannot be strong and we can't run direct trains from everywhere to everywhere. Carmarthan, potentially...
Ah this proves we need a like button. I wondered how long it would be before this thread had any useful information on it. Given it sounds quite a serious incident I'm suprised it's been kept so quiet, that been said the latter may not be a bad thing.
