National Rail London & South East map

The LSE map was combined with the Network Railcard because a) all national plus Network Railcard leaflets were merged into one and there was not space to include a full area of Network validity map and b) customers were increasingly confusing the two maps, using the LSE map poster at stations as...

National Rail London & South East map

As the key states, "Independent heritage railway with National Rail interchange and through ticketing available." One of these two criteria was relaxed recently because it was originally "cross-platform interchange at a National Rail station" but that would have excluded the Bluebell and...

[Request] How do I go about visiting British Steel Redcar (Station)?

Spot On. All access around the station has now been closed plus services will cease to call at British Steel Redcar after Saturday 14th December 2019 - the stops have been deleted from the winter timetable data. The station is indeed being mothballed (i.e. not officially closed) indefinitely...

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

The appearance of these ads seems to be dependent on the day of the week and the time of the day that the sponsor has paid the retainer for them. Sunday afternoon seems to be quiet but weekdays, particularly mornings and evenings (when commuters often need to get information fast) is when they...

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

This one is particularly grim. And the user part of the website has actually shrunk to fit in the advert. Bargain bucket fried chicken - that is the sort of brand and product that NRE is happy to associate itself with these days...

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

Partially tailored ad, partially sponsored regardless. Clearing your cookies and cache, rebooting and then going in and you will still get massive completely unrelated adverts from whatever company has paid a retainer to have them there regardless. Only after a while then yes indeed it builds up...

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

If it looks less pretty than Trainline or any TOC website then no-one will go there anymore and the single source of impartial rail truth will cease.

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

Yes - offer truly impartial GB rail information and a link to rail retailers that do not charge commission. That is its primary purpose and its operation is subsidised by the already subsidised TOCs which all the more reason why it should not be swamped in adverts that overwhelm the site and...

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

Pedantic and wrong. Whilst the space right round the website is given over to the same advert, keep refreshing the page and you will get a multitude of different adverts that all do the same thing - hence "adverts" in the plural.

National Rail Enquiries turns into Exchange & Mart

Whose bright idea was it at National Rail Enquiries to introduce such huge and utterly intrusive adverts right round the border of the website? Cars, fried chicken, school uniform clothing, holidays, concerts...anything to distract from train information which is what the site is supposed to be...
