What is the scope, once fully qualified and settled with E*, for transferring to their Paris (or other European) depot? Would they be prepared to sponsor the work visa? Does this happen much already, or is it not supported?

I wouldn't recommend them, personally. I wouldn't trust them to run a bath, let alone a train service. Completely incompetent. Overall they're badly managed, don't care about their employees, only care about their public perception, yet couldn't care less about trains being cancelled or running...

I know Avanti seems to be fairly popular for qualified drivers, but I haven't really seen any posts about the qualified adverts for Holyhead that have come up this year. I'm just curious why there may be not much interest in Holyhead?

I would have thought it'd be straight into training. There's not usually any more assessments after talent pool, it's just waiting for them to call you up

Do not ask for the depot driver role. Firstly because, if you get to the interview, the interview is not for that job. Secondly, the depot driver role is usually significantly lower pay for far worse hours (unsociable hours/nights, not longer hours) in the most dangerous part of a railway...

I can only imagine that it's 3 years since fully qualified. Asking for someone to have not changed employers within the last 3 years would seem very unusual to me. Though I have been known to be wrong before! :lol:

It looks as if there's no distance restriction according to the advert. Seems they may have changed their criteria now that they want 3yrs qualified...

I have an interview for TPE in York in a couple of weeks, and I don't really know much about their T's & C's. I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light? I'm aware of the salary and that they have Sundays inside, but I don't know much else. I've seen people here saying they have better...

First Group ask for your last 5 years, no minimum number of entries. Many others seem to be minimum last 2 employments but no time period requirements. Some just ask for your CV instead, so it might be sensible to have at least 2 employments and covering the last 3-5 years as a minimum
