On 2c65, which went from platform 9 at Clapham Junction, instead of 6 and is going direct to Virginia water via Weybridge. Apparently we hit 90mph, which is fun in a 450.

One on train announcement that always seems redundantly repetitive to me is when South West trains set of to the penultimate station. Heading towards Waterloo, for example, you get
Welcome aboard this South West trains service to London Waterloo, calling at Clapham Junction and London...
I know its not directly next to Heathrow, but isn't this part of the reasoning for Old Oak Station being planned?
I imagine a much more frequent shuttle from there to Heathrow might work well.
As one of the major capacity issues seems to be no more room on the physical tracks east of Reading, would laying more track be a useful solution? Or would it require an unlimited budget? I know new track would be expensive, but I have no idea quite how much it'd cost.
