Noticed that today. It's fair enough, Dundee is a small station and having a lounge that would be used by just a few people for a tiny part of the day seemed daft. I also saw that they removed the Caledonian Sleeper interactive machine in Arbroath last week.

There's nothing realistic about that.

Folk wanting to immediately withdraw a huge chunk of Scotland's railway fleet with all the impact that would have. With no possibility of it being replaced anytime soon. Because a train was hit by a tree. I'd rather be selfish than hysterical.

As someone who commutes daily on HSTs on this very route, I'm a little bit miffed that you'd rather make it impossible for me to get to work each day. We would all love a brand spanking new fleet of InterCity trains, but maybe some of you have noticed that the Scottish Government and ergo...

The train I get to and from work every day is a HST (apart from when it's cancelled - say 1 in 20) and a 170 shows up. I grumble. If I'm late the local service is a 158. I'm never late.

As someone who gets on a HST to commute (nearly) every day, I can tell you my heart sinks a little every time a 170 occasionally turns up instead.

At least it gives me an excuse to ride First Class then, since it’ll cost me the same as Standard :p

Since the fares changed this year, my daily Scotrail commute jumped to £12.50, above the £12 minimum fare for Railcard discounts, and for some reason, I started getting the full discount (1/3 off) making the ticket around £8.30 That seems to no longer be the case this morning with the minimum...

I'm sure it helped to vent that lol - and I accept there are exceptional circumstances. But I think its fairly obvious that to amass a £40k/year pension pot you would have needed to have been on a good wage for a decent number of years - you'd need to be popping out sprogs at the rate of Boris...

God only knows what you've been splashing the cash on throughout your life if you've managed a pension pot worth £40k a year, but didn't bother playing a mortgage!

If you think the Scottish Gov make spending decisions just to irritate the UK Gov, you are quite quite mad!

And when they can point to train drivers getting 5% north of the border, it ain't going to wash. These strikes are gonna last.

There’s not a chance in hell the U.K. Gov is going to agree to 5% pay rises across the public sector - not gonna happen. Indeed, I would wager Boris would quite welcome the distraction of strikes - is Keir confident enough to back the Unions yet?
