It is a fair walk from Central to the wagon works . A better service for there would have been to re-open Dog Lane station (closed 1850s?) on the Sheffield line!. The works is about the same crow flying distance from Duki Central as Guide Bridge.

No ,you are wrong, Hooley Hill, on the Guide Bridge avoiding line was renamed Audenshaw (closed 1952) after the station I refer to was closed. I can see where the confusion is, both lines came together at Denton Junction , the one I refer to was on the line between Denton and Droylsden.

50 years ago,a mate of ours had a diesel loco on his front drive and lived in Droylsden at the time. I think we shifted it about 1978. Loco and our mate are still about but not in Dro. Above therefore is quite realistic!
